The Minnesota Rules for Admission to the Bar require house counsel to be licensed in Minnesota. House Counsel may be eligible for admission without taking the Minnesota bar examination if they:- Are licensed in another state
- Have practiced law for three (3) of the last five (5) years.
- If the practice was in Minnesota or in another jurisdiction.
There are two options for becoming a licensed house counsel in Minnesota: Rule 9
